ATDA Hosts Tire Industry Stakeholder Meeting

We are pleased to invite members of the tire industry to a crucial stakeholder meeting scheduled for February 6th at 1:00 pm. The focus of this meeting will be to discuss the recent updates to the Alabama Administrative Code, Division 335-13-4-.21, which mandates that whole tires must be shredded or cut into thirds before landfill disposal.

This meeting presents a significant opportunity for various stakeholders to come together, including tire dealers, haulers, landfill operators, recyclers, and representatives from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). We aim to open a dialogue, identify challenges, and encourage collaboration among all parties to develop effective solutions. The ultimate goal is to achieve compliance with the new regulations by the deadline of December 31, 2027.

We believe that working together, we can address any issues, find practical solutions, and ensure a smooth transition to these new requirements. We look forward to your participation and input in this important conversation.
